Fletcher Homes were originally using an older version of a Redsky construction software system, which served its purpose for the contract management side of the business over a number of years, however, has now become dated. The team at Fletcher Homes were therefore to explore different options available which could better support the businesses plans.
Fletcher Homes were using the Redsky ERP solution for its housebuilding process, however, the team suffered from a number of challenges because it did not contain the level of housebuilding specific functionality required.
As a result, the team were using disparate systems which made it difficult to manage the full housebuilding lifecycle – for example, when using manual spreadsheets and other systems, there is a lot of work required to manually manipulate data and transfer costs from one spreadsheet to another – all of which are prone to mistakes that can lead to the risk of decisions being made on inaccurate information.
Whilst spreadsheets are useful for many things, they are not designed for data processing or creating structure and control, especially if different systems and spreadsheets are working in silos and not talking to one another.
As the business looked ahead at their growth plans, it was evident that they required a software solution which provides a structured method of managing their housebuilding processes, so that as they continue to grow and add new employees, they can learn easier and be onboarded faster in line with standardised company systems and processes.
After a bespoke demonstration from the team at Eque2, Fletcher Homes unanimously decided to implement the specialist Build, Sales and Care modules from Eque2’s best-of-breed Housebuilding suite.
The initial priority for the business was to establish a single version of the truth with the build process by implementing the Build, Sales and Care modules. The enabled the business to maintain a structured plot build process with plot orders being raised and site progress being managed throughout the Build module.
The Sales module allows them to track customers from their initial engagement through to legal completion, and the Care module allows them to capture and manage all snagging and any post-build issues easily from the back office, whilst keeping the customer up to date.
Furthermore, the Build, Sales and Care modules of the Eque2 Housebuilding solution will support Fletcher Homes in improving and streamlining its full housebuilding processes by providing improved visibility of costs, cost control by job or plot, and consolidated reporting, all within an easy to use, GDPR-compliant solution.
Fletcher Homes has also chosen to adopt the following complimentary modules and mobile apps;
- Mobile Tick Sheets – a mobile app which allows remote users to track progress and upload photos and comments as work proceeds. All updates feed straight into the core system for future reference and payment processing.
- Mobile Care – a mobile app for site staff to be able to add, view and update snagging issues from site. Allows for photographs and sign off on all calls to be logged.
- Project Programming Tool – allows the team to plan out whole site programs. This information integrates into the build schedule so a project can be published automatically when the site build schedule is confirmed in the Build module. The Mobile Tick Sheet App can then update progress against this build program to provide a view of the build position against the schedule.

Due to the success of the implementation, Fletcher Homes have also decided to review their Redsky system and replace it with Eque2’s integrated finance solution EVision – based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
