Hong Kong developer picked for Manchester residential project

August 8, 2016

A new residential project in central Manchester will be developed by Hong-Kong based Far East Consortium International (FEC), Manchester Place and The Co-op have announced.

The firm will take charge of the development of 600 new homes and the refurbishment of the historic Angel Meadow Park, as part of the NOMA project near Victoria Station, on the north-east edge of the city centre.

FEC will be adding to a UK portfolio that already includes the 700-unit Alpha Square development in London, for which it recently received planning permission.

The new development will include four blocks, one of which will be a signature tower.

NOMA is one of a number of locations around the edge of the city centre where major new residential apartment developments are taking place.

Others include the nearby New Islington developments, while four skyscrapers are set to be constructed on the south-western edge of the city centre at Owen Street.
